Only three hours from Cape Town lies a special nature reserve situated in the Overberg region, near the southern tip of Africa. De Hoop Nature Reserve is approximately 34 000 ha in size and one of the largest natural areas.

Now the third largest national park in South Africa, Addo Elephant National Park has expanded to conserve a wide diversity of biodiversity, landscapes, fauna and flora. Stretching from the semi-arid karoo area in the north around Darlington Dam, over the rugged Zuurberg Mountains, through the Sundays River valley and south to the coast between Sundays River mouth and Bushman’s river mouth, Addo covers about 180 000 hectares (444 700 acres) and includes the Bird and St Croix Island groups.
The Cederberg Wilderness lies 250km north of Cape Town, encompassing some 71 000ha of rugged, mountainous terrain. The Wilderness received World Heritage Site status in 2004 as part of the Cape Floristic Region. The Cederberg is renowned for its spectacular landscapes and weathered sandstone rock formations.
Cape Agulhas is where the Atlantic and Indian Ocean meet. This is the most Southern tip of Africa. This is a wonderful experience, not everyday where you can see two oceans meet!
The lighthouse was completed December 1848. The building was declared a national monument in 1973 and is also a Western Cape provincial heritage site. The views from top of the lighthouse is amazing.
